X-Treme Drag Racing League (X-DRL) Brings “X-Citement” to |
Maryland International Raceway for “Mayhem at the Creek”
Kerrville, TX (July 23)– The new X-treme Drag Racing League (X-DRL) takes its inaugural season to the East Coast for its fifth event and prepares for its first appearance at Maryland International Raceway for the “Mayhem at the Creek” on July 26-27th at Budd’s Creek.
This highly-anticipated event will give East Coast fans their first look at the action-packed X-DRL which features many of the top professional cars and drivers in the world competing in ten exciting classes including Pro Junior Dragster, Mickey Thompson Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Supercar Showdown, 10.5 Outlaw, X-treme Pro Mod, Precision Turbo & Engine Pro Turbo, X-treme Pro Stock, Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous and Pro X-treme, the world’s quickest and fastest door slammer class. These classes will provide non-stop action over the two days, with cars going as quick as 3.60 seconds in the 1/8-mile at more than 210 mph.
This event marks the debut of the popular 10.5 Outlaw class for the X-DRL. Whether Nitrous Injected, Supercharged or Turbo Charged, these competitors all have to “get it done” with just 11.2 inches of rear tire on the ground!
Royce Miller, owner of the famed Budd’s Creek facility stated “the 10.5 cars are a GREAT addition to the X-DRL line-up, and we couldn’t be happier that this class of fearless competitors was added for our event here at M.I.R.”
The X-DRL is an 1/8-mile sanctioning body that has already made a favorable impression in its first season. All of the races are on line with multi-camera live-stream coverage at www.X-DRL.com for free, and the X-DRL has also signed a television contract with Velocity (by Discovery) for episodes to be aired during the fourth quarter of 2013.
“We’ve got a lot of exciting action planned for this race and there’s no doubt that it’s going to be a memorable weekend for everyone involved,” X-DRL president Jeff Mitchell said. “In addition to the Mayhem at the Creek competition, we have the Pro X-Treme final to run-off from the “X-Treme Gateway Showdown” between point leader Brandon Pesz and Tim Tindle.”
And if that isn’t enough excitement, “Mayhem at the Creek” is the final race that determines which drivers will win the X-DRL “X-TRA Bonus”. At the conclusion of this race, the point leaders in PX, PN, XPS, PM and PT will receive a $2,500 bonus in addition to their regular earnings. Mickey Thompson Top Sportsman and Top Dragster point leaders can add $1,000 to their take-home!
General admission tickets can be purchased for $20 for Friday and $25 for Saturday. A special two-day, full event pass can also be purchased for just $40, enabling fans to enjoy the full Friday and Saturday X-DRL experience. Children 6-11 are $5/day and children 5 and under are free. A coupon to save $5 can be downloaded on the X-DRL or Maryland International Raceway Facebook pages.
In addition to experiencing premier eighth-mile drag racing from many of the top professional drivers, all tickets include special VIP pit access, giving fans the opportunity to meet their favorite drivers and race teams. With an exciting manufacturer midway, special exhibition runs and pit access in one of the most incredible atmospheres in drag racing, fans can expect maximum value from their X-DRL ticket purchase.
Racing begins at 3:00 on Friday and goes into the night, and begins again on Saturday at 1:00 with eliminations set to begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
“The main idea behind the X-DRL was to create a high-quality association that will bring plenty of excitement and we’re thrilled with what we’ve been able to accomplish in a short time,” said X-DRL president Jeff Mitchell.
