WEEDETR Street Rod Components was started in 1986 by Dale Caulfield. Mr. Caulfield has been in the business of building street rods for over 30 years. At the beginning of the "Fat Fender" popularity, Mr Caulfield was in the process of building three fat fendered Fords from the ground up. Since he had already built his own 40 Ford sedan delivery, he decided that the suspension system under it would be good to manufacture for use under these vehicles because it worked so well and it could be made to be simple to install.
With the product line now over three hundred part numbers and the coverage expanding from 1926 Ford to mid-60's GM vehicles, there doesn't appear to be an end to the products that WEEDETR is working on.

Dale Caulfield started out in the street rod industry in the late 1960's doing body and paint work for his father, Jim Caulfield. Jim had a shop in Southern California that did body and paint work primarily on antique and hot rod cars. He has worked on several famous cars in his career. The first one was the Bud Bryan/Rod & Custom hiboy. This was the first of the nostalgia roadsters that pushed the return of the flathead hiboys. Another car was the Doyle Gammel 32 three window. They rechopped the top, did other body repairs and painted the car. Probably three of the most famous cars that he did were the thirty four three window coupes of Pete Chapouris and Jim Jacobs of Pete and Jakes fame, and Jim Ewing of SuperBell Axle company.
As time progressed, Dale started doing frame and chassis work also. After moving to Northern California, the business catered strictly to antique and street rod work. An occasional race car snuck in also.

Trailing arm rear suspension for classic trucks
Our new trailing arm suspension kits for the 41-55 GM pickups and panel trucks is designed to be a bolt in kit that is complete less the rear end assembly, which can also be supplied through our ultimate rear suspension packages. The trailing arm rear suspension kit is complete with arms, mounts, coil over shocks, shock crossmember, panard rod assembly and all hardware with instructions. We also have these kits designed to use air springs.

The new rear suspension packages include leaf spring kit of your choice, shocks and mounting hardware, and a NEW 9" Ford rear end housing and axles. Options include drum or disc brake packages, swaybar, Bilstein shock upgrades, and complete third members. Call for current prices
Front Spring Clamp/U-bolt Eliminator.
The new spring clamp/U-bolt eliminater 1928-34 Fords is designed to be welded to the front crossmember, then the lower plate is attached using the provided bolts and lock nuts, therby eliminating the U-bolts that fit over the crossmember. This is a much cleaned installation plus, it works on very flat crossmembers and still allows for radiator clearance.
