Are You Ready for For Your 3rd ChumpCar Season - 44 Events / 65 Races & More!

  

The ChumpCar World Series, voted North America's Best Road Racing Series by Grassroots Motorsports Magazine, features a variety of competition formats based on endurance road racing. Race formats range from single-day 8-hour races, to Double 7-hour Enduros (one each on Saturday and Sunday), to single-day 12- and 14-hour events... up to the longest endurance sports car and sedan race held on a closed course in the world - 25 hours, 25 minutes and 25 seconds. This event has been dubbed "The Longer Longest Day" and is held at the Nelson Ledges Sports Car Circuit in Ohio.

 

Within the 2012 Schedule, a total of 44 events have been announced, comprising of a staggering 65 individual races--with at least 3 more events to be added! The expansive 2012 Schedule includes confirmed events at such notable tracks as Daytona International Speedway, Road America, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Portland International Raceway, Sebring International Raceway, Auto Club Speedway, Texas World Speedway, Heartland Park Topeka Raceway, Road Atlanta and the newly minted Ridge Motorsports Park in Washington state.

2012 ChumpCar Schedule As of Nov 14 2011  

 

ChumpCar World Series officials recognize that certain events have, in the past, sold out and that many of the 2012 events will also reach ChumpCar's maximum capacity of 37.5 cars per mile of paved track. Therefore, to ensure that teams have an equal opportunity to enter all 2012 events, no on-line event entry applications will be accepted until December 1, 2011. On December 1st, registrations will be processed as first received with paid $250 deposit. Events and dates that are anticipated as sell-outs include:

  • Road Atlanta (Double-7 Enduro):  11-12 February
  • Palm Beach International Raceway (24-hour Endurance Race):  3-4 March
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway (14-Hour Endurance Race):  31 March
  • Portland International Raceway (Double-7 Enduro):  31 March-1 April
  • Road America (Double-7 Enduro) : 21-22 April
  • Daytona International Speedway (14-Hour Endurance Race):  27 May
  • Virginia International Raceway (24-Hour Endurance Race):  11-12 July
  • Iowa Speedway (24-hour Endurance Race):  25-26 August
  • The Ridge Motorsports Park (14-Hour Endurance):  15 September
  • Sebring International Raceway (14-Hour Endurance Race):  22 September
  • Harris Hill Raceway (Double-7 Enduro):  6-7 October
  • Nelson Ledges Circuit (25:25:25 Endurance Race):  6-7 October
  • Road America (Double-7 Enduro):  20-21 October
  • Portland International Raceway (12+6 Hour Enduro):  27-28 October
  • NOLA Motorsports Park (Double-7 Enduro):  17-18 November
  • Road Atlanta (14-Hour Endurance Race):  8 December

Early-entry, with paid deposit, is HIGHLY advisable to guarantee acceptance for these events.

 

Presenting ChumpCar Regional Chumpionships

 

For 2012, each of ChumpCar's four regions will host "INVITATION ONLY REGIONAL CHUMPIONSHIP" events: Canada, West, Central & East regions (see above Schedule).  Depending upon the qualifying race format, teams will be included in these "invitation only" events based on the following criteria for the qualification period of July 2011 through June 30, 2012.

  • Top 5 finishers of every Double-7 enduro
  • Top 7 finishers of every endurance race longer than 7-hours but shorter than 14-hours
  • Top 10 finishers of every endurance race longer than 14 hours
  • And ChumpCar retains the right to invite no more than two (2) additional teams per event that it deems deserving to attend a Chumpionship event.
