Another Successful NMRA Ford Nationals Event

Maryland International Raceway Hosts Another Successful NMRA Ford Nationals Event!

The 14th Annual SCT NMRA Ford Nationals in Budds Creek, Maryland featured close racing on one of the best tracks in the country, a giant car show on both days and a manufacturers midway that included everything from nitrous and custom suspension to the local Pep Boys Speed Shop. It was a great way to kick off the month of May and the spectators got exactly what they wished for... including a few significant milestones in ATF Street Outlaw and Edelbrock Renegade!

The NMRA earned the rights to be called The #1 All-Ford Motorsports Event once again as the weekend delivered an outstanding event for all types of Ford fans.  Brought to you by SCT Performance and presented by Downs Ford Motorsports at one of the most organized and well-prepped tracks in the county, the racing was exciting from start to finish.

In ATF Street Outlaw, Dwayne Barbaree put down a 6.97 to break the 6-second barrier and secure the top qualifying position in the class. John Urist was right behind him with a side-by-side 6-second blast during qualifying. Barbaree was up in smoke and out in the second round with Urist and Hines lining up for the final. Hines took the win with a 7.10 over Urist's 7.17. However, it was Barbaree and Urist who will be presented the first two leather jackets for the elite Street Outlaw 6-second club!

There was a distinguished group of Edelbrock Renegade racers chasing the elusive 7-second mark all weekend. Finally, it was "Bad" Bart Tobener who clocked the number with a 7.943 in the semifinal round. In the end, Tobener was crowned the overall winner and the record holder, ending a great weekend for the longtime diehard racer.
