auto restoration shops are forgetting about quality when restoring your
classic auto, muscle car or vintage truck. I use the best products
offered and take my time doing the work correctly. Every project gets
stripped to the bare metal, including blasting of all jambs and hard to
reach areas. The sheet metal will have any rust cut out and new metal
welded in. All dings and dents are worked over and hammered out, minimal
filler being used. With the sheet metal work being done, I then Epoxy
prime all the bare metal, letting it cure completely. It is then scuffed
down again, applying any filler if needed for those smaller blemishes
left from the sheet metal work. I will then block the filler and proceed
with another primer. (Your investment will be protected by 2 types of
rust prevention primer). This coating is also block sanded when cured. A
2K primer sealer (grey color) is applied in several coats with blocking
in between applications. With the final sanding of the primer, the
body is prepped for color. I use PPG paints and House of Colors paints.
All finishes are then wet sanded and buffed to a mirror shine. Ive
always said, If you cant see yourself in the finish, it isnt done! I
take great pride in my work, paying attention to detail, as if each
restoration were my own.
