2014 DFW AUTO SHOW INTRODUCES YEAR’S NEWEST MODELS,
TWO RIDE & DRIVE EVENTS
The 2104 DFW Auto Show is ready to prove that everything is, indeed, bigger and better in Texas. Just witness the changes that have been made for 2014. Five of the six halls at the Dallas Convention Center will be used instead of four. There will be an increase in exhibit space from 550,000 to 650,00 square feet. Two Ride & Drive events are scheduled versus one in past years. And the Aftermarket Area is twice the size it was in 2013.
“Last year’s Show was one of the most successful in our 30+ year history, so there is a lot of pressure to produce yet another noteworthy event,” said Don Herring, Jr., 2014 DFW Auto Show chairman. “But we believe we have the right elements to achieve that goal. We are very excited to be able to provide consumers with a well-rounded Auto Show experience this year.”
The Dallas Convention Center will be filled with more than 700 of the year’s newest vehicles from virtually every manufacturer including the following “all-new” 2104 models: Acura MDX and RLX Sport Hybrid; Aston Martin Vanquish Volante; Bentley Flying Spur; BMW 228i Coupe, M3, M4, 435i Convertible and i3; Cadillac ELR; Chevrolet Stingray Coupe and Convertible; Honda Accord; Jeep Grand Cherokee; Land Rover Range Rover Sport; Lexus IS250F Sport and IS350; Maserati Ghibli; Mazda3 and Mazda6; MINI Hardtop; Mitsubishi Mirage and Outlander; Nissan GTR and Nissan Rogue; Rolls-Royce Wraith; Subaru Forester and XV Crosstrek Hybrid; and Volkswagen GTI.
“Texas is the number one market for the Ford Mustang and we’re excited to bring the 2015 version of the pony car to the DFW Auto Show in Dallas. North Texans will truly appreciate the next chapter of this iconic performance car,” said Chris Rushwin, Ford sales and marketing manager Central Market.
Also returning to the Show this year will be a High End area where the spotlight will be shining on Aston Martin, Bentley, McLaren, Maserati, Rolls-Royce and Ferrari. Scheduled to appear are: Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, DB9 Coupe and Rapide S; Bentley Flying Spur and GT Speed Convertible; Ferrari 458; McLaren Spider; Maserati Ghibli, Quattroporte and Gran Turismo MC; and Rolls-Royce Wraith.
“These vehicles are always a huge draw for the Show. All auto enthusiasts derive joy from dreaming about what vehicles would be in their ‘fantasy garages’, so this will be the place to be,” said Lee Chapman, president of the Dallas Fort Worth Metropolitan New Car Dealers Association.
Fantasy garages also can include classic cars, and the DFW Auto Show will have those as well including vehicles from Corvette Legends, Lone Star Corvette Club and the North Texas Mustang Club.
This year, consumers who attend the Show will have an unprecedented number of opportunities to test drive their favorite vehicles. All new for 2014 will be the indoor RAM Trucks Ride & Drive where professional drivers will steer participants through an interactive adventure zone in a 2014 RAM 1500. The track will feature a 13-foot high, 30-yard long, 30-degree iconic RAM Mountain, as well as a 12 x 25-foot section of terrain simulating fallen logs that highlight the vehicle’s ground clearance. In addition, kids will get a chance to drive on the Mini-RAM Kids’ Course.
“For serious car shoppers, auto shows are the ideal venue to scrutinize all the vehicles they have been researching on the Internet,” Herring said. “But nothing compares to getting behind the
wheel of a car, truck or SUV to feel how it drives and handles. That is why Ride & Drive events have gained popularity over the years.”
The DFW Auto Show also is pleased to present an impressive Aftermarket Hall for an automotive shopping experience like none other. A variety of automotive products and services will be featured including: chamois, car wax and polish, leather cleaners, truck accessories, paint protection and car insurance. In addition, shoppers can peruse other vendors including windows, bath displays, die cast cars, pain relief sprays and oils, and even custom wood putters.
The 2014 DFW Auto Show also will not neglect the kiddos as the “Kids’ Fun Zone” Powered by Kidventure will return Friday evening through Sunday. The area will feature a variety of activities and inflatables to keep children of all ages occupied.

Hours of the show are: 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 19 and 20; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21 and 22; and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23.
